Job Description
The Department of Computing Sciences at the University of Hartford has an opening for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions starting in August 2025. While all disciplines will be considered, preferred areas of specialization are cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Essential Job Duties
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science with a teaching load of 3 courses per semester. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. Applicants should describe, in their letter of intent, how their teaching or scholarship will advance inclusive excellence in all students, or describe any particular expertise in curriculum development related to inclusive excellence in computing. An active scholarly/research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and presentations are expected for successful tenure and promotion. Service to the department, college, and university will include serving on committees, advising students, and contributing to student recruitment and retention efforts.

Required Qualifications
Required:
  • Doctorate in Computer Science or related fields. Applicants who are ABD and will have earned their doctoral degree by date of employment will also be considered.

  • Teaching experience
  • Ability to add to key knowledge areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Open to learning and sharing innovative teaching methods and technologies
  • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

College Information
The College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture offers undergraduate Engineering programs in Electrical, Computer, Acoustical and Music, Biomedical, Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics. It also offers undergraduate Engineering Technology programs in Audio, Computer and Electronic, Electromechanical, as well as Architectural Design + Technology. Additionally, the college offers an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Construction Management + Technology.
