JOB SUMMARY

Robotics Coach (RC). The RC is responsible for supervising and mentoring our US Robotics Team in the design and construction of robots that will compete in FIRST Robotics Lego League Competition (FRC). The Robotics Coach will be tasked with leading a team of students, encouraging critical thinking, and understanding the robotics code to assist with any student questions. A successful candidate in this position will share a commitment to upholding Crystal's core values and working in an inclusive school environment; work collaboratively and engage effectively with all constituents; and bring strong organizational, technological, and communication skills as well as valuable skills/perspectives from previous professional environments and personal experiences

Qualifications
Travel Required

Drive students to robotics events and/or competitions

May be required to travel out-of-state if robotics team qualifies for Nationals

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience

Experience working with students

Experience working in dynamic settings serving multiple constituents

Preferred experience

Bachelor's degree with engineering background and/or knowledge of CAD software

Familiarity with First Robotics Competition (FRC)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and operate power tools and all relevant shop equipment

Salary and Benefits

This is a seasonal, exempt part-time (8-12 hours/week) position. It is not eligible for benefits. The estimated total compensation is $4,600 per semester. Season key dates - hours vary but typically Tuesday and Friday 3:30-5:00 pm and some Saturdays.

The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established. First consideration will be given to individuals that apply between August 29, 2024 through September 4, 2024. Second consideration will be given to individuals that apply between September 5, 2024 through September 8, 2024. The ideal start date for this position is September 9, 2024.
